Three Months Old!

*Gotta get this posted before she turns Four Months old in a few days! Month Three has been such a fun time for us...this little gal just keeps getting cuter and cuter! Mommy and Daddy are officially obsessed with her.

So much has happened lately! Avery has learned to hold her head up, so we introduced the Bumbo seat. She's not completely sold on it yet, but we're hoping. The packaging reads "Your extra set of hands" and we could sure use another set around here. Daddy has been working on Tummy Time with her during the day, and she even rolled over for the first time (from tummy to back) last week! She has progressed from playing with her hands to reaching for toys and holding them. She laughed at Mommy one day while I was playing with her feet - so adorable! Daddy left for the first time since Avery's birth - he went on a Baseball Trip with some guy friends. We missed him but had a fun girl's weekend, just the two of us.

Oh yeah, and she slept through the night last Wednesday...and has done it every night since then!! We can't thank you enough, Avie.

For Our Mamas...

To My Mom: Growing up, I always felt sorry for my friends because their mamas weren't as sweet as mine (seriously!). I can't remember a time when I needed a hug or a smile from you and didn't receive it. Thank you for giving me such wonderful memories of my childhood and for being such a good friend to me now. I love talking with you, laughing with you, shopping with you...just being with you! You are my perfect mother and I am so thankful to God for you.

To My Mother-in-Law: I've told you this several times, but I'm not exaggerating when I say you are the best Mother-in-Law I could have hoped for. You have been accepting of me from the moment I met you. You have always been warm and loving toward me. We have fun together and you are so considerate of me. And you raised a sweet, loving son for me to marry!

Happy Mother's Day!

"...Take another look at me, oh breaker of my heart.
Take a look and you will you see, how beautiful you are.
Even when I walk away, I could not go very far
Before the child in me would say
Home is where you are.

In the tapestry of time, I could not imagine where
I could find someone as kind, on the ground or in the air.
I have heard that angels fly, and they never show their face.
So I suppose that from the sky
One landed in your place.

Did you know right from the start, when you first held me in your arms
That you would always hold my heart
Where you are.

You make the mornings seem so light, with coffee in the air
But to be a mother and a wife is a heavy load to bear.
And so you gave your life away, like the God inside your heart.
And even though we've gone away, home is where you are.
It's where you are."
